PROBLEM

The physical classroom you were used to is gone - not forever but for the foreseeable future. Little did you know that when you finished your last workshop in February or March of 2020, it would be your last until 2021.

COVID has changed the way you teach. The environment in which you worked has disappeared for now leaving you with the prospect of delivering your content online. If you’re like most of us, you haven’t had a lot of experience designing and delivering for the online world and you might be wondering if you can do it and if it will work for you and your participants.

Problem Solved

This might sound a bit bleak but what if there was a silver lining in this moment? What if this seismic shift presented you with a better way to teach? What if this shift presented you with a better way for your participants to learn? I know that it’s possible because I made the shift to teaching online 10 years ago. No doubt, teaching online is different than teaching in-person and it poses its own set of challenges. But it can be as fulfilling and effective.

And lets not kid ourselves, there were some pretty big downsides to classroom teaching: Having to travel to far flung locations on snow-covered roads only to discover when you arrived at your destination that you couldn’t get into your training room, or the room was too small or too big or wasn’t set up like you had requested, or the projector didn’t work, or your training materials went to the wrong place or the heater wouldn’t shut off or the air conditioner wouldn’t kick in.

Our Clients

Our clients are from a wide variety of organizations. I work with educators, trainers, facilitators and presenters in educational, corporate and government sectors. I have worked with many universities (St. F. X, St. Mary’s Dalhousie, UNB and the NSCC), all levels of Canadian government ( federal, provincial and municipal); numerous corporations (Canadian and international), and not for profit/community organizations. My work can be group based or I can work one on one with individuals. I can easily adapt the model I have developed over thirty years to suit your specific needs.

HOW TO GET STARTED

Screenshot 2020-12-18 at 8.35.31 PM.png

I can help you take your courses and modify them to an online delivery platform. I can help you figure out how to operate all the controls (like Breakout Rooms, whiteboards, waiting rooms, etc.) and be able to trouble shoot the technological things that will go wrong. I can also help you bring the interactivity of in-person training to your online delivery. You can make it engaging. You can make it effective. You can make it fun. And, despite a lack of experience with Zoom or Microsoft Teams, you can do it. I would love to help you.
